Resident/Non-Resident Permit - Terms and Conditions
Eligibility
Resident Parking permits are available only to Town of The Blue Mountains residents for designated municipally owned parking locations.
Proof required: You must upload proof of residency within the Town of The Blue Mountains (tax bill, driver’s licence, lease agreement) as well as the vehicle(s) ownership/registration. Please visit https://www.thebluemountains.ca/resident-services/parking-public-transit for complete list of accepted proof of residency documents.
How to register for a parking permit:
Town of The Blue Mountains residents can register annually for parking permits online.
Before registering, please review the terms and conditions below. By proceeding, you agree to these terms. Failure to comply may result in permit cancellation or an Administrative Monetary Penalty (AMP).
To register for or purchase a permit:
- Create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Submit your application online.
- Wait for Town staff approval. Your permit is not active until approved.
You will receive an email when you submit your application. You will receive another email once your permit has been approved or denied.
Start date: Permits are granted for the Calendar year, starting on the 1st of January each year.
- Annual resident parking permits are available free of charge to Town of The Blue Mountains residents only.
- However, if you live in a surrounding municipality (Collingwood, Meaford, Grey Highlands, and Clearview), you can purchase an annual parking permit for the Town of The Blue Mountains for $100 + HST.
- Residents with a valid account are eligible to purchase up to 14 Friends and Family Parking Permits per year. Each Friends and Family Parking Permit is valid for one day and can be used at designated municipally owned parking lots. Friends and Family Parking Permits cost $5.00 + HST per day.
- The Town of The Blue Mountains, its employees, or agents, are not responsible for loss or damage to vehicles or their contents.
- Failure to pay for Non-Resident or Friends and Family Parking Permits will result in permit cancellation.
- Once a parking permit is purchased, it cannot be refunded or credited. No refunds will be issued for unused time or if parking is unavailable.
- Allow up to three (3) business days for resident permit parking processing. A confirmation email will be sent once approved. Please note that Parking permits are not valid until this confirmation has been received.
- The Town may refuse permit renewal or issuance if there are multiple unpaid parking penalties.
- Permits are non-transferable.
Permit holder responsibilities
- Follow all permit terms and conditions.
- A permit will not be issued for specific parking spots.
- Ensure all contact, payment and vehicle information is current and correct.
- Do not use a commercial vehicle (over 6.7 m long or 2.6 m high), recreational vehicle, school bus, trailer or inoperable vehicle.
- Lock your vehicle when parked.
- Comply with all other parking regulations, signed or unsigned.
- Do not park your vehicle at the location overnight.
