Resident/Non-Resident Permit - Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

Resident Parking permits are available only to Town of The Blue Mountains residents for designated municipally owned parking locations.

Proof required: You must upload proof of residency within the Town of The Blue Mountains (tax bill, driver’s licence, lease agreement) as well as the vehicle(s) ownership/registration. Please visit https://www.thebluemountains.ca/resident-services/parking-public-transit for complete list of accepted proof of residency documents.

How to Add Vehicles & Resident Permits:

  1. Log in or sign up using your email and Townof the Blue Mountains address.
  2. On the "permits" tab, click the ‘add permit’ button,and then the ‘add vehicle button and fill out the requiredvehicle information on this form and click ‘save’. If you are registering multiple vehicles, repeat this step for each vehicle.
  3. Select your vehicles to permit, then under ‘vehicle registration’ youare required to attach a photo or scan of the vehicle(s)ownership(s)/registration(s)
  4. Under ‘additional proof required’ you are required to add your proof ofresidency (drivers license, tax bill, utility bill etc.)
  5. Once the vehicles are selected and the attachments have been added, click ‘addto cart
  6. View the terms and select the ‘accept terms’ box and then click ‘buy
  7. A ‘confirm payment’ popup will appear, click ‘yes’ (note: there is no chargefor a resident parking permit)
For non-resident registrations, please select the “Non-resident” profiletype and use your neighboring municipality address when creating your account.Non-resident permits for up to 2 vehicles can be purchased for the calendar year for $100 + HST. This fee can be paid online by adding a credit card on to your account.

Please note that vehicle parking permits gothrough a manual approval before validation, this process can take up to 72hours.
When you have applied for a permit, you will receive an email stating that theTown of The Blue Mountains is processing your permit request. When the permitis reviewed, you will receive an email stating that your permit is approved and then you can park for free in paid municipal lots.

If you have not received an email confirming your permit has been approved, you cannot park for free in municipal lots.

Start date: Permits are granted for the Calendar year, starting on the 1st of January each year.

Terms and conditions for all permits

- Annual resident parking permits are available free of charge to Town of The Blue Mountains residents only.
- However, if you live in a surrounding municipality (Collingwood, Meaford, Grey Highlands, and Clearview), you can purchase an annual parking  permit for the Town of The Blue Mountains for $100 + HST.
- Residents with a valid account are eligible to purchase up to 14 Friends and Family Parking Permits per year. Each Friends and Family Parking  Permit is valid for one day and can be used at designated municipally owned parking lots. Friends and Family Parking Permits cost $5.00 + HST per day.
- The Town of The Blue Mountains, its employees, or agents, are not responsible for loss or damage to vehicles or their contents.
- Failure to pay for Non-Resident or Friends and Family Parking Permits will result in permit cancellation.
- Once a parking permit is purchased, it cannot be refunded or credited. No refunds will be issued for unused time or if parking is unavailable.
- Allow up to three (3) business days for resident permit parking processing. A confirmation email will be sent once approved. Please note that Parking permits are not valid until this confirmation has been received.
- The Town may refuse permit renewal or issuance if there are multiple unpaid parking penalties.
- Permits are non-transferable.

Permit holder responsibilities

- Follow all permit terms and conditions.
- A permit will not be issued for specific parking spots.
- Ensure all contact, payment and vehicle information is current and correct.
- Do not use a commercial vehicle (over 6.7 m long or 2.6 m high), recreational vehicle, school bus, trailer or inoperable vehicle.
- Lock your vehicle when parked.
- Comply with all other parking regulations, signed or unsigned.
- Do not park your vehicle at the location overnight.
